Golau Llŷn Light, Photography by Tony Jones

I've lived all my life on the beautiful Llŷn peninsula, and I've photographed this little corner of north west Wales for over thirty years. My love for the area’s geology, its beautiful colours and light, have deeply influenced my work. I love capturing Llŷn’s pre-dawn light and twilights, and I hope they are a refreshing change from the usual interpretation of this magical land. I think my images have a timeless, mystical quality with dramatic light and moods, which emerge from the very depths of my Celtic roots.

"The Llyn peninsula is quite simply a magical part of the world; its twilights for example are stunning, and the range of colours and textures are awesome". "There’s nothing I like better than capturing the dawn of a new day, with its beautiful haunting mist, or the sun going down over Bardsey Island, and its amazing display of colours. Most of my images are predawn or after sundown, with exposures of over a minute on some of them".

I use Nikon D3 and D2Xs digital cameras, and several professional quality Nikkor lenses. So every one of my images, which are all printed on Fuji Archive photographic paper are crystal clear and pin sharp!

Welcome to my interpretation of this beautiful land, and not a single beach hut in sight!
